Khewra Salt Mines: A Natural Wonder of Pakistan
The Khewra Salt Mines are the oldest salt mines in the Indo-Pakistan subcontinent. They are located in the Jhelum District of the Punjab region, at the foothills of the Salt Range. The salt is found in an irregular shape, but it is made edible, shapeable, and exportable through a refining process. The rock salt in these mines is 99% pure, and it is used for both edible and exportable purposes.
